The word Dating encompasses lot many definitions by different
people, but the technical definition of Dating, means that it is a part of the
process involving the human mating. This process involves the meeting of two people
for the companionship, which is beyond the level of certain relationships like
friendships. The main motto of dating is assessment of the person( with whom
they do dating) regarding various issue, in order to check for the suitability
of that person as their partner of their life, i.e as life partner. This dating
process may involve various social activities which are performed by a couple.
The various activities included under the dating process
differs from place to place and time to time. But, whatsoever the variation,
the underlying aim of having the dating is to have a mutual understanding of
individuals regarding various issues. It is not necessary that a dating couple
should always involve in sexual relation. This will entirely depend upon the
interest and the views of the dating couple.
There are no age limits for dating. But in general, dating
refers to a mutual relationship in which a couple will live together socially
for a period of time. The period of time will be generally before engagement or
before marriage. But there are also certain situations, where one will go for
dating process. Such situations may include a divorced person seeking for a
relationship, or a person who is interested in relationship at a greater age
than normal, etc. The thing to be noted here is the availability of the persons
who are ready for accepting the dating at a older age. During younger age, it
would be easy to find a partner for dating, but as the time passes and the
person becomes middle aged, it would be a bit difficult to find a good person
to undergo dating with them. Of course, the dating process involves the mutual
interests to perform the activity and is also not necessary that it should lead
to marriage. If the dating couple does not find the compatibility with their
partner, they will just stop their relationship with dating.
